This is a comprehensive course designed to teach students the fundamental skills and techniques of creating patterns for clothing and fashion design. This course will cover the entire process of pattern making, from taking measurements to drafting and manipulating patterns to fit different body types.
Course description
In this course, Students will learn to create patterns for a variety of garments, including tops, skirts, dresses, and pants. Through hands-on projects, students will gain practical experience in creating patterns and will develop the skills necessary to bring their fashion designs to life.
Course Outcomes
By the end of this course:
Students will have a strong understanding of pattern making techniques and will be able to confidently create patterns for a variety of garments.
Students will have the skills necessary to take measurements, draft patterns, and make adjustments to fit different body types.
Students will also have a working knowledge of pattern manipulation, allowing them to create unique and custom designs.
Students will have a portfolio of their work demonstrating their proficiency in pattern making and will be able to incorporate these skills into their fashion design process.
